Born and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, Amy was first inspired as an artist by her grandfather. She received her first art instruction during college while attending Hollins University in Virginia.

Following graduation, she worked for several years in both the fashion and design industries in New York and Atlanta.

Then, Amy started her own stationery line which included whimsical watercolor illustrations printed on note cards, notepads, invitations and holiday cards. She built the business into a successful endeavor with her line distributed to hundreds of stationery and gift stores across the U.S.

Amy took a sabbatical to enjoy being a mother to her daughter, Sophie.

Now back to painting, she is creating abstract paintings as well as whimsical images on a much bigger scale – cows, flags and canoes are some of her subjects inspired from growing up in New England.
