Ben Shuptrine
About the Artist
Ben Shuptrine is passionate about developing various art styles that evoke the beauty of life. His curious nature allows him to experiment with a number of different mediums, thus allowing him to express a multitude of ideas to the viewer. A recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Ben was the 2020 Recipient of the Graves Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
“Imagery travels through my head and materializes onto paper, copper panel, wood, or gilded panel. I am inspired by nature, the world around us, and how we fit into the ecosystem”
– Ben Shuptrine
He is the son of a nationally awarded artist-Alan Shuptrine-and the grandson of nationally acclaimed artist, Hubert Shuptrine (1936-2006). He has studied, experimented, and apprenticed with watercolor, oil, gold leaf, metals, wood, and many other mediums. Coming from a family of artists, he was taught from day one to look at the world through color, shadow, light, and dark. He is following in his father’s and grandfather’s artistic footsteps; but Ben is establishing himself as an artist in his own right.
